Riehen is multifaceted. Although it's the second largest town in north-western Switzerland, it has kept its village flair. Here you can still find vineyards and agriculture. At the same time, the world-famous Fondation Beyeler attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Riehen offers many surprises, not only in the form of its modern and contemporary architectural gems, but also its historic and picturesque parks. 

In May 2022 the municipality of Riehen was selected as one of the «50 worth seeing Swiss villages» by Switzerland Tourism and the Federal Office of Culture. Thereby Riehen became part of «THE MAGIC OF BEAUTIFUL PLACES» project list. All these places are also registered with the Federal Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites (ISOS).
